Safari Applescripts

Updated: 09.02.05
License: Freeware
URL: *gone* Apple has removed this page. See below for links to these scripts as I can find them.
Requires: 10.2+ Safari 1.0+

A set of official Apple applescripts to extend Safari via the menubar’s script menu.

  • Import Image Into iPhoto | This script will import a JPEG or GIF image which is open in its own Safari window into your iPhoto collection.
  • Open Linked Images | This script scans the front browser window for images (thumbnails) that link to other JPEG images and then displays the target JPEG images, each in its own window or each in its own tab. Here’s an example page containing linked images.
  • Combine Windows | This script will combine the open browser windows into a single tabbed window.
  • Open Reuters News Stories | This script opens the top news stories on the Reuters Top News website each in its own window or in its own tab.
  • eMail the Current URL | This script will create a new email, in the default mail application, containing the URL of the current browser window.
  • Create Phone List | This script scans the Address Book application to create an alphabetical list of persons with their phone numbers and displays the result in a new browser window.
  • Windows to Full Screen | This script expands all open browser windows to full screen.
  • Side-By-Side | This script repositions the front two browser windows to be side-by-side.

These go into the main applescript library, and are available via the menu bar.

    1 month later..

    ..still broken
  • I think this page is gone from apple.com, sorry. I've looked unsuccessfully so far for where they went.

(This is a really old post)

The link is broken. It just leads to a list of common Apple applications. The Applescripts for Safari are not on that page and I don't want to spend an unknown amount of time searching down through links to see if I can possibly find the scripts.

Thanks Mel. We're working on getting the site updated, images and links fixed up and updated.
