OpenSearch takes advantage of the new popover functionality in Safari 5.1 to provide a nice search interface. It incorporates the OpenSearch specification, so any site that supports OpenSearch can be added just by visiting the site. If a site has OpenSearch implemented, the button will get a notification on it (see picture).
