URL: Glims 1.0, Beta 6
Requires: Safari 3.0.4 (4525.18) or later, Mac OS X 1.5 or later
In the spirit of Saft or SafariStand, Glims is a smorgasbord of add-on functionality for Safari. Notable features includes an Inquisitor-like search extension that reveals top searches and suggestions in a HUD-like drop-down list, page thumbnails in Google and Yahoo search results, and tab favicon support.
The site notes that Glims' performance often suffers in the presence of Saft, and recommends that Saft be removed prior to installation. Glims appears to be striving to make Saft redundant, but its too early to tell if it deserves to supplant Hao Li's classic plugin.
Current features include:
Adds thumbnails to Google.com search results
Adds thumbnails to Yahoo.com search results
Adds search engines to the default Google search tab
Adds full-screen browsing capability
Adds Favicons to tab labels
Undo "Close Tab" (cmd-z)
Re-opens last session when Safari starts
Auto-Close download window
Type-ahead support (auto cmd-f)
